THE ROUTE 66 BIG BAND

THE BAND AND THEIR MUSIC

ROUTE 66 is a 16-piece "BIG BAND" with a distinctive Brass & Reed section and a delightful repertoire of popular dance tunes. Their play list includes music made famous by Frank Sinatra, Glenn Miller, The Beatles, Abba, Billy Joel, Joe Dolan and Gloria Gaynor, all performed with the power and excitement that can only be experienced through a 16-piece Big Band.

Their line-up is: 3 trumpets, 3 trombones, 4 saxes, keyboard, drums, 2 guitars and 2 singers.

THEIR FEE AND THE LENGTH OF THEIR PERFORMANCE

Their set, or play time, normally extends to two or two and a half hours with a short break.

Although they are a big 16-piece band their fees for weddings and corporate events compare very favourably with other smaller bands i.e. these musicians play for less than they would charge in a smaller band. Needless to say they present a most impressive sight on stage and fill the hall with an equally impressive sound. Never too loud but beautifully distinctive.

THEIR BACKGROUND

ROUTE 66 is made up of talented musicians from Counties Kildare, Meath and Dublin who come from varying musical backgrounds. The majority of them have been involved, both professionally and semi-professionally, with showbands, groups and musical societies for many years and the experience gained in these areas brings a very special musical flair to their performance.

THEIR EXPERIENCE

They have played at many high profile events including the wedding of Royston Brady, ex Lord Mayor of Dublin, The Rose of Tralee Festival, Barnardo's Diamond Ball in The Shelbourne Hotel and at Gala Balls for both Temple Street and Crumlin Childrens' Hospitals as well as parties for many well known celebrities.

They can also recommend a DJ for those who like to be entertained into the wee small hours.
