The Cathal Buí Community
Arts and Heritage Festival will run this year from Thursday 29th June until Monday 4 th July inclusive
in the border village of Blacklion, Co. Cavan. The title reflects a desire to focus on the
local in terms of art, culture and heritage.
Cathal Buí 2011 promises
to be primarily a celebration of the people, traditions, and
landscape of West Cavan – Cathal Buí Country.
Drama, lectures,
art exhibitions, music and song together with workshops organised
both before and during the festival weekend by local artists
will reflect this theme, celebrating local artistic achievement
and encouraging participation and expression.
